Austin Music Foundation in Austin, Texas is currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns with a love of music and a serious interest in working in the music business. The internships are not paid positions and you should be available to work 15 or more hours per week to fully benefit from the experience. Administrative Interns: AMF is looking for some passionate and customer service oriented individuals to help with our busy office. You would be involved with general administrative duties including signing up new clients, scheduling meetings, answering phones, assisting with events and creating checklists with our staff for our clients. An ideal candidate should be friendly and professional with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Public Relations/Social Media Intern: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to assist Austin Music Foundation and our clients with promotional material and social media outreach. At any given time you could be involved in marketing and promotions, researching, social media outreach, event organization, and office administration.
Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, well versed in social media, multi-tasking ability and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work independently and be a self-starter, a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Communications Intern: This internship position offers the opportunity for an in-depth look in the marketing promotion and logistics of AMF’s campaigns and events which often includes copyediting, researching new press avenues and drafting blog posts. Strong written skills are a must. A background of interest in policy or law particularly as relates to the creative sector, is preferred.
Website Design/Graphics: We are currently offering an internship to provide students with exposure to the fundamental functions of website development and maintenance. This intern can expect a lot of interaction with management on website directions, experience on the needs of running a live production site while developing incremental improvements to it. Responsibilities include updating website content (video, text and graphics), research and recommend plugins to add features and update and test features and layouts.
Event Planning: This is an exciting opportunity to intern for our event planning with a dynamic, energetic and diverse group. Responsibilities include coordinating invite lists, creating invitations, coordinating with sponsors/advertisers/city leaders/artists and general administrative tasks as required. Candidate must be professional, customer service oriented, exhibit discretion and confidentiality with critical information and data, have excellent communication skills and be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Street Team Intern: AMF is seeking a highly motivated individual interested in pursuing a career in marketing and promotions to design a street team. This individual will coordinate and organize teams to attend local shows and events to promote the services and events for AMF and our clients. Responsibilities include scheduling the teams, communicating with venue owners, bands and festivals and event setup and breakdown. Applicants must have a flexible schedule and be available for evening events.
